This work was created for the Noor festival in Riyadh as a result of dialogues between me and local artist Talal Al Zeid.

I invited him to go beyond his usual imagery and create a drawing that communicates the essence of Riyadh to him. You can find that drawing in the making off picture carrousel below.

The image reminded me of old movie posters. So my working title was “Once upon a time in Riyadh”. His design forced me to make a more frontal work than I would normally choose, a nice challenge that worked out very well.
